Movie Review: Accuracy of Death

Accuracy of Death (a.k.a Sweet Rain 死神の精度) is the new movie offering by Takeshi Kaneshiro. In this movie, he acted as a Shinigami (Grim Reaper) called Chiba (named after the area he is in charged of), who judged whether his subjects are worthy of death. Everytime he "works", it always rained and he never get to see his sunny day. He loves music, "the greatest invention of humanity". In the plot, he has 3 subjects: the first being a OL with very low self-esteem, second is a gangster and the third is an old hairdresser. His boss, the black dog, always wondered why he bothers to judge when he usually go ahead with his subjects' death. For your information, no voice was dubbed for the dog. Only words come out in the form of subtitles. So when the dog laugh, the word "laugh" will appear. Haha!

I love this movie and I am giving it a 4/5. Besides the fact that Takeshi Kaneshiro's character is funny and so yummy-looking, it is a "feel-good" movie and of cos, meaningful theme behind the movie. Although there was no climax, the funny scenes worked just fine for me. As the Grim Reaper was not from this world, he always created a butt of jokes with words and complained why there's so many new words to learn.

Watch it for: its "feel-good" plot, very handsome grim reaper, the funny scenes, the very nice theme song "Sunny Day"

Here's the theme song by the actress(the OL, Kazue Fujiki) in the show:

"Someday, I will see my sunny day like Chiba."
